Why Budapest Aerial Meeting?

Hungary has a deep-rooted circus tradition, with a national circus school, a resident traditional circus in Budapest, and numerous training spaces for both professionals and hobbyists. However, a strong, connected aerial community is still missing.

Across Europe, annual aerial meetings and festivals provide artists with a sense of belonging, exchange, and professional growth. Budapest Aerial Meeting aims to fill this gap—creating a platform for aerialists in Hungary and beyond to connect, collaborate, and strengthen the aerial network across Europe.

Budapest Aerial Meeting envisions a thriving aerial arts community in Hungary that is deeply connected to the broader European circus network. Our goal is to create an inclusive and inspiring space where aerialists of all levels can train, share knowledge, and collaborate across borders.
By fostering international connections, we aim to elevate aerial dance and circus as recognized art forms, offering opportunities for both emerging and established artists to teach, perform, and grow. Through annual gatherings, residencies, and performances, we are building a sustainable platform that nurtures artistic development, strengthens community ties, and expands Hungary’s presence in the global aerial scene.
